Features

  • Navigate through “Choose your own adventure”-type stories, with pages consisting of images, or even text, exported in JPG/PNG format. (No coding involved for Authors, just provide the uploader with some kind of “road map” for your pages.)
  • Supports up to 3 choices; Comprises of one default NEXT and two additional buttons that appear on pages where choices are possible.
  • The stories are set up for more than one read-through. After finishing a story ONCE, try to read again, you may find something new…
  • “First Read Lock”, (hidden feature, enabled upon request by author) can force readers to view the story without branching in the first time they read. During this time the two additional NEXT buttons are hidden.
  • These can occur after your first read-through, for Replayability:
    • “Mandela effect” – a page, or part of it, can have a minor change
    • “Overwrite effect” – a new page is placed entirely in place of the original page
  • Pages can be “pre-fetched” before reading so that there will be no loading while reading.
  • Both Left to Right and Right to Left order of pages is supported (as per Author request).
    Controls involving Right & Left will be reversed.
  • Bookmark feature
  • Keyboard shortcuts while reading (PC only)
  • Pinch action support when viewed on mobile
  • Can feature a mix of pages in PNG/JPG/GIF or animated GIF format
  • Compatible with Edge/Chrome/Firefox/Opera

FAQs

Can there be more than 3 choices?

>>> Yes, the algorithm allows it, but we like to stay sane so we keep it up to 3. More choices also means more controls/shortcuts, which makes the interface more complex. Though it’d be cool if there were hidden 4th or 5th choices in the future xD
>>>Yes… Mandela effect as in the “False Memories” phenomenon is how we make the re-reads more interesting by implementing a small change on some parts of the story. These changes can range from small objects, to the pose of the character, to a different animal encountered, etc. I.e. part of the page changes after your first read.

The other effect, Overwrite, happens when a whole page is swapped out for an entirely different page.
